Privacy Policy

Geoshutter is operated by Wachete s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Geoshutter mobile application or website (the “Service”), why we collect it, and the choices you have. 1. Data We Collect

• Account data. When you sign up we receive your email address and name from the sign-in method you choose (email, Google, or Microsoft). We store your email, display name, and an account identifier.
• Photos and location. The Service exists to exchange photos of places. Photo requests include the location you select; photos you submit include the place, direction, and time they were captured. With your permission, the app uses your device location to show requests near you and to verify that a photo was taken at the requested place.
• Payment and billing data. Wallet balances, transactions, rewards, and withdrawals are recorded by us; payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. If you request invoices, we store the billing details you provide (name, address, tax/VAT ID).
• Notifications. If you enable push notifications, we store your device’s push token and your notification preferences.
• Diagnostics. We collect technical telemetry (app version, device model and OS, crashes, and usage events) to keep the Service reliable.

2. How We Use Data

• To operate the marketplace: matching photo requests with nearby photographers, delivering photos, and processing payments and invoices.
• To review submitted photos with automated moderation for content that violates our Terms and Conditions or the law.
• To send notifications you have enabled (for example, new requests near you or responses to your requests).
• To diagnose problems, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the Service.
• To meet legal obligations such as accounting and tax rules.

We do not sell personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.

3. Sign-in with Google or Microsoft

If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive only your basic profile information (name and email address) and use it solely to create and authenticate your Geoshutter account. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

4. Sharing

• Other users. A buyer who purchases a photo receives that photo. Photographers are not personally identified to buyers, and buyers are not personally identified to photographers.
• Service providers. We use Microsoft Azure (hosting and storage in the European Union), Stripe (payment processing), Google and Apple (sign-in and push notification delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under their own data protection commitments.
• Legal. We may disclose data where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the Service.

5. Storage and Retention

Data is stored in data centers located in the European Union. We keep your data while your account is active. Records we are legally required to keep (such as invoices and transaction records) are retained for the statutory period even after account deletion; everything else is deleted or anonymized when your account is deleted.

6. Your Rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent (such as the location permission) at any time in your device settings. You can delete your account yourself in the app or on the website under Account, or follow geoshutter.com/delete-account if you no longer have access. For anything else, contact service@geoshutter.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority; in the Czech Republic this is the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ).

7. Cookies and Local Storage

The website uses browser storage only to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and adjust the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app or by email.
